Local ballyhoo prices?

Before I call around to all of the local shops, does anyone know if they (Haddrell’s Point, Atlantic Game and Tackle, or Charleston Angler) are running any early specials for a case or cases? I just thought maybe there are a few others out there with this on their mind. That said, if anyone is interested in splitting two cases let me know. I want a mix of smalls and mediums, Bionics or Baitmasters.

Hadrells does a deal on cases. For whatever reason, horse are cheaper this year. Im going to get a case of horse and medium but will onl use half of each. PM me if you want the other half of either at cost.

Thanks. I’m going to call around in the morning and confirm some prices I’ve heard. So far I’ve heard, Haddrell’s is $180/case and Atlantic Game and Tackle is $105. I’m not sure what brands or size or what Charleston Angler has, but it i$ worth looking into.

I called around this morning and have the following:

Haddrell’s Point…case of mediums Bionics(144)/Baitmasters(140)

Charleston Angler…case of mediums Baitmasters ($105)

Atlantic Game and Tackle…case of mediums Baitmasters (132).

I do not have Palmetto State Armory in my phone, so if anyone would like to get a price from them that would be great.

So, pick your favorite local shop and go get ya’ some.

i know palmetto state armory in mt plastic has them. dont know about a deal on cases…

Hey Andy, cases are 10 per pack 10 packs per case? Or dozen / 10?

Should be 12 dozen per case

I could be mistaken, but I think the mediums are 12 per pack and a dozen packs per case for mediums.

Also, I forgot to ask about the price of medium Bionics from the Charleston Angler, but you get the idea.

I know Hadderal’s Point in Mt Pleasant has higher prices than most places but $35 more that’s like 33% higher. Thank you for posting the prices of all, I read your post and meant to tell you to post the results. I had a incident there one morning last year in august where cigar minnows where higher than their usual price, the guy was like there 15 I mean 25 which struck me as weird and I bought 2 boxes of squid that day also and only received one but didn’t notice until I was offshore, I’ve only been back once and that was because I won a gift certificate to there at a pier tournament, but the one in South Windermere does have fiddlers when nobody else does so they can still get my business when I need fiddlers. Just curious your post says Hadderal’s 180 and 144, 140 what is 180 for.

Cases of ballyhoo. In no way was I trying to “call out” any of our awesome local stores. I’m just in the process of buying ballyhoo and thought I might share the prices I was told over the phone. And, yes, sometimes prices are slightly higher or slightly lower, but the service might be awesome, too. There is already another post about that. So, be thankful we have a few, good local stores to choose from that are full of fishing knowledge. I stopped by Dick’s the other day to grab some wiffle balls and swung by the new and improved fishing area, lol. The dry erase board on the big display said the tarpon bite was out of control in Charleston. Remember, this was on just 2 days ago.

I was just expressing my feelings from an experience I had the same as I would if it was a great experience, though it does come off as salty. I always get great services at Hadderal’s in the Windermere and been shopping there since it was Barton and Barnwell. Dick’s fishing store is field n stream and they have a nice selection some of there items even have dicks stickers. But I will say when it comes to the more specific stuff and offshore to be more particular if you want it today you have to go to one of the actual tackle stores. But I try to plan in advance and order most stuff online because when its all said and done the money I save in total is a lot because of the amount I fish and I can compare prices a lot quicker. Though there is the occasion where you can get a better deal in store sometimes and certain products like a rod or reel you really can’t get the feel of unless you have it in person.

I ordered 2 cases today from Haddrell’s Point.

haddrells west Ashley is where it’s at. good people, good service… no brainer

“mr keys”

We order ours direct from bait masters , 2 day shipping on dry ice.

Remember you get what you pay for. Order bait online if you like, when pack of ballys is no longer vacuum sealed try returning it. Lots of knowledge in several local tackle shops that gets used daily, hate for that to disappear when all your purchases are made online. You would be surprised how close prices are when shipping etc., are considered. Have a great day.

This kinda struck a nerve with me, yes I do indeed work at a local “full” service tackle shop. Won’t mention the name. We spool reels on a daily basis that are bought at other local stores, that don’t provide that service, even put line on cheap combos from other box stores. We again on a daily basis rig offshore lures, downriggers, dredges etc., either because customer doesn’t know how or just finds it more convenient for us to do it. It is these small things plus others that keep us in business, my dollars are hard earned just like everybody elses and I try to spend my money wisely. These will be the things missing when those that choose to buy their peoducts entirely online only to stop by when they have a problem or bait only come to a halt. Buy local when you can folks!

I can appreciate your buy local opinion, I own 2 businesses myself, I live in lexington and the last time I checked they don’t sell ballyhoo or any other offshore products local to me. So I will continue to buy online, and I’ve yet to get any bad product from Baitmaster!

I do buy local often, mostly foods because they are truly local and where lucky to have stuff like that available. But when some one tells me to buy local and there products aren’t local, they are just local re-sellers that’s not really buying local to me, though it is supporting a local store which supports the local economy but so does Walmart, they pay taxes and hire local people also just on a grander scale. When going to a “local” store for me it is more service oriented because that’s what they should offer when being a specialist in there category to have a competitive edge.

Price of $105 at Charleston angler is for only 10 packs not 12. I always order smalls and the price is $179 but that is for 16 packs.
Have gotten my bait from Haddrell’s Mt Pleasant for the last 3 years never had an issue with service or quality.
