I have a copy of the “Key West Cookbook” printed in the late 50’s/early 60’s. Its full of turtle/conch/name your regulated and/or endangered species recipes. It’s one of my go to books for something different for dinner. By the way, I do own a pair of Loggerhead sea turtle boots (I got them from a relative who had them made in the early 70’s and they never fit him, they fit me though, so I inherited them).

I don’t like the texture of turtle, but if you can find the eggs they are delicious. Very much unlike poultry eggs.

That recipe starts by having you sear the turtle meat in 1 stick of butter. I think even card board would taste fine like that.

their eggs are great, got to enjoy them as youngin growing up in beaufort. its been probally 16 years since ive had one and probably wont ever again
