Lonely fishing Bushy

Got out to Bushy 6:45am and not a boater in site. Thought crossed my mind of how cold it really was now that I’m not in my subdivision. Shot out to one of my spot with hand warmers (worked swell) in my gloves. After about three cast felt a thump and pulled in a 26"6lb Red. Then realized I need to put maintenance in my tag gun as I do my reels. Wasted a few tags but got this big boy back in the water and he swam away strong. Wind was at my back so a normal 15 to 20 yrd cast was now 40 yds or so. I was in trees after tree (on the banks) etc… But managed to come home with my limits to get ready for the Super Bowl Party.

It was so cold I busted my camera mount trying to get it set up. Nearly bit the dust (water) a couple times getting on the Bow with the thin sheet of Ice. Had a good only fishing bushy because the wind was HI and back home by 11:30 before the tide got low.

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

Well gail wins, I just stick with what works. I use a white-ish swim bait when it’s murky like it is and fish a bit slower when jigging off the bottom. My leadheads I painted red and this appears to do the trick along with ZMan trout eye jigs and I fish shallow to deep when it’s cold like now and I mean deep. So far so good.
