March 21 Meeting
Our next meeting will be Sunday March 21, 2-5 PM at the Hobcaw Barony Visitors Center. We will have to pay $50 to use the facility for the day. To help cover our expenses, I have some items donated by the Orvis store in Market Commons that we will offer in a raffle.
This week we will be asking for donations from our Members of at least one fly. We will also raffle these flies to raise money for the club. If you have any additional fund raising ideas please give us your suggestions at the meeting or on our website.
Since Steve paid for ALL of the refreshments for everyone last time I cannot ask him to do that again. If you are unable to bring a fly please help by bringing some drinks or appetizers. I will have a large cooler with ice available for the drinks. Would anyone be interested in serving as our refreshment coordinator?
Captain John Irwin, of Fly Right Charters, out of Charleston, will be the guest speaker. Captain Irwin has nearly 20 years of experience, so don’t miss out. He will be speaking on fly selection based on fishing conditions.
We had a great meeting on February 21st, at Hobcaw Barony, with a fantastic turnout. We added 9 new members, bringing our membership to 31. As of this meeting, we are now officially the Long Bay Fly Fishing Association. For mor information please visit our web home page at http://www.longbayfly.org.
