long distance freight shipping

I am looking into expanding my business and I will need shipments brought to me via 53 ft dry van trailer from 650 miles away. I was wandering if anyone on here had experience with long distance freight costs ect. load will be around 35K lbs max prob more like 32k. any help from anyone with knowledge or experience in this is much appreciated. thanks in advance

There’s a lot more info needed. I have done a bunch of heavy haul shipping to the port in Charleston to be loaded and shipped to Peru. Lots of variables…Is the product palleted?
Do you have a means to unload, or is the driver going to have to help?
A decent start would be uship.com. It is a bidding based shipping website. I’ve met some great friends there. But beware, there are some slouches also. A lot depends on what has to be done on the pick up location, AND your location. A VERY detailed logistical plan is necessary to minimize your costs.

Will not be on pallets, PA to Edgefield 650 miles. I was looking for a rough estimate on price I assume they charger per mile but not sure. Driver will not have to load or unload

The product is baled hay

Does it have to be dry shipped in a box trailer or can it be shipped on a flat bed in the open or tarped. If it goes in a dry box or has to be tarped it will cost more!

SC FISH I pull flat bed for a company and usually hay is hauled on flat bed. I can pm you the company website if you wish to give them a call

Thanks acr, preferably a flat bed with a canvas bc the hay will be coming off the wagon and will sweat. It can go in an enclosed van trailer but cannot be in there for more than 2 days bc the hay sweats and it will start molding. Thank you for the info I’m not looking at doing this till summer but just was doing some research for costs and such.

Thanks 23…I mistyped. It is uship…:sunglasses:
