Long key Florida
I’m going to long key florida october 16th-20th.
Has anybody ever fished the area?
I plan on renting a 18ft CC for 2 days of the the trip. This will be my first trip to the keys.
What species of fish should I target this time of year?
I have done some research and order a chart of the area but just looking for some inside information from somebody who has fished this area.
Have not fished that area but chumming is the key to bringing in the fish if you are on a reef. It will bring in yellow tails, snapper, ect…
The water is so clear that the fish can easily see the leader & hook so you have to try to drift some cut or live bait back at the same speed as the chum & in the chum. You can also add some weight & drop to just off the bottom & try that. Sure there are some more expreienced guys on here that can help a lot more.
