I haven’t posted here in quite some time, but i’m in the market for a new boat. Well new to me boat. I’m looking in the 17 to 19 foot range, and have found a 1998 19 foot Bayliner Trophy with a Force outboard for $4500. I don’t know much about these boats, or brands. I grew up in Charleston and know that key west, and scout make a good boat, but I’m not too sure about this particular boat. I currently live in south Georgia, and make regular trips to Panama City Beach to fish the piers. I would really be the main use is going to be at the near shore reefs and trolling for kings tarpon, and other near shore palagics in the gulf.
Turn around. Walk away. Don’t look back. Keep looking

I have a few 17’ Scouts and a 17’ key West for a little more then that. Way better built, and all have Yamaha’s. Pm me for information

The options i have is a 17 foot keywest with a bad engine for $2500, or the trophy that runs. i’m in no big rush to buy any boat right now, i would rather wait for something that is decent that i don’t have to drop a few grand on to fix. the key west has a 1990 johnson 88 hp that needs new pistons and rings. i’m trying to stay in the $5000 range and i’m taking my time to find something, but i wouldn’t mind having something come April when the cobia are biting in the gulf
Whole lot better boats out there than a bayliner with a force engine.
what larry said!!! only , don t walk, don t run,…SPRINT.

$4500 and craigslist should get you a much better boat than a Bayliner.
