Looking at Lowrance Elite 4m gps

I’m looking to add a small gps next to my Garmin 300 echo depth finder, I have been looking at this Lowrance gps lately and I’m thinking of pulling the trigger. I mostly want a small gps for running at night through the rivers and the harbor, and hoping that it shows the names of most of the creeks. Hoping to get some reviews on this unit from some people. Thanks.

I have it. I like it.

I only use it to mark spots of interest and for a trail to follow back in case of poor visibility.

For a small, cheap GPS, I think it’s perfect. I got mine from sportsmansguide.com. It came with the Navionics Gold Charts preloaded.

If you have an iPad or iPhone, check out this app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/arcgis/id379687930?mt=8 It will tell you the names of all of the creeks. If you search the maps, there is one called USA Topo Maps that has charts with depths. You can drop a pin on any spot on the map and get GPS coordinates. Punch the coordinates into your GPS and go get 'em!

Thanks, I really thought it would be fine for what I want to use it for. I’m going to go ahead and purchase it.

I haven’t been out on the lake with it. I’ll check and get back to you.

You can go to the lowrance webpage and download the lakes onto a mini sd card.

No lakes. In the cooper, depths stop around Mepkin. I think that’s pretty standard.

Edit: It shows the outline of all the lakes, but no depths.
