My fishing partner is in the process of building him a set of combos. He has decided on the 6500c4’s. These are blue and silver. They are a little harder to come by and were not made many years. Abu switched the name to 6600c4 and started making them blue/gold.
If anyone has one laying around working or not and wants to get rid of it let me know.

I’ll keep an eye out?
Question, why do you prefer the higher gear ratio Abu’s over the more popular 5.3 units? I have both, and tend to use the higher gear C4’s for casting, and the lower gears for trolling and jigging. Noticed any downsides to using the higher gear ratio for our type of fishing?

I don’t use the 6.3’s. I have had a couple in the past and just don’t care for them. The ones I used were given to me and i used them for throwing lures.
One day I had a buddy out fish me in the congaree 5 to1. We were using the same bait throwing same areas sometimes in the same hole. I stopped and watched him for a minute. Put my rod down and picked up my spare. Started catching…lol…it was the speed they were hitting (my spare was a 5.3). I tried slowing down the reterive on the 6.3 but just didn’t feel right to me. Quickly sold the ones I had…lol…
Needless to say my buddy likes the “blue/silver” look. Which I can’t deny looks really good. He was going to go with the 6000 red ones but was afraid they would get mixed into mine…lol… I told him the c4’s were higher speed than mine, but if he didn’t like them we can change the gear ratio in them so that’s what he is going with.
As far as normal live bait fishing goes I really don’t see a difference. Some say u lose power with the 6.3 but gain speed. Who really knows. I just won’t cast lures with a 6.3… haha

Try Ebay. They usually have a few on there…
