I’m looking for a replacement motor for my Evinrude 225 1991. I need it to be pretty cheap… Doesn’t have to be pretty but Id like to get at least a couple of seasons out of it. I simply can’t afford new power. May sound crazy, but it needs to be in the up to $2000.00 range. I have someone coming to buy a motor I currently have for sale April 15th so I’ll have cash available then. The motor is for a 20’ Wellcraft dual console sportsman (v20). I can go as low as a 140 and up to 225 depending on the weight. Thanks everyone.
Nice…any controls with it?
Currently repowering boat at Marine Service Center in Murrells Inlet. Taking 225 HP optimaxes off (purchased boat new in 2002). Starboard motor runs great, good compression and new lower unit around 40 hrs ago. Port motor is counter rotating…started missing last trip (probably fouled plugs) didn’t have analized since repowering and was awaiting delivery of new motors. Both 25 inch shaft. Also, counter rotator has newer lower unit within the last 75 or so hours. Always dealer maintained and optimax oil used…all service records with dealership.Coming off the boat this week. Make me an offer…use the standard motor and sell the CXL or keep for parts. No props, using them on new motors. reelmaloy@excite.com

I’ve got a pair of 1995 Ocean Pro 150s with stainless hyperd props. 2k takes the one that runs, 1k for the broken one, 3k for both. Will let controls go with motors.
