Looking for a good fish smoking rub!

Hey all. I’m planning on smoking some fish this weekend. I happen to like it almost like jerky-- very dry. About a month ago I smoked some flounder filets that turned out really good except my rub was a bit bland; I made a coffee and brown sugar mixture. Does anyone have a good recipe for me to try out? I was thinking about trying a good teriyaki flavor too.

Help me out with a good recipe so that I have a nice snack during medical school study weeks. Thanks y’all!

You want to look for a good brine recipe, not a rub!

Brown sugar, black pepper, and seasoning salt

Worchestershire sauce , liquid smoke , distilled water , cajun seasoning .
equal parts sauce, smoke, and water , approx 2 table spoons cajun seasoning…
marinate 24 hrs in frig or 1 hr in vacuum pack container if you have one. place in smoker drippin wet until done !! enjoy
its my favorite!!! especially on Striper or large mouth…

Brine it and look up a good pastrami rub.

I actually used a mix of gail and fish guy’s suggestions. I brined it overnight and then made a rub to put on right before going on the green egg. Turned out really good! Can’t wait to make some more. Have it vacuum sealed and stored away for snacking.
