Just bought a perception tribe 11.5 and while I mainly wanted it to paddle out baits while shark fishing, I also want to fish the creeks for edible fish and shark bait
Haven’t used a yak other than paddling through the surf so I would like to go and fish folly creek areas the week after I get back from FL, sometime after the 5th of march.
Also wondering if anyone has had luck with kings/tarpon maybe 1/2 mile out from the beach?
If you’d be interested in teaching me the ropes a little bit, I assure I will be going often and if you like fishing with others I will be down to go.

Hey Stan, I planned on heading out Sunday March 10. It’s a little cold for offshore, but I’d be willing to tear up some creeks.

If your hitting the ocean on 3-9 or 3-10 let me know. I might could make it, always been curious about folly, what’s out there and all. There are supposed to be concrete reef balls south of the jetty. I don’t know if they hold fish or anything.
Salty let me know if you guys go. I am free Sunday.

salty yakker, I have heard the reef balls have been covered up quickly by sediment, if you make it out there and anyone has a depth sounder take pictures … sure they are holding redfish if they haven’t been covered up. good luck guys, be safe

I have a fish finder. I’m not sure how to take pictures with a fish finder. In the summer, I will have agps pro camera and take a video of underwater topologies including the jetties, and the reef balls at folly, but that can’t happen until the weather warms up in May or June unfortunately. LOL
Until water temps bump up I would prefer to stay in the creek side for now. The close shore stuff would be mid april probably! Sauerkraut text me 631-553-6301, well have to postpone, I got stuck working but would definitely love to hit up the creeks. Heard the reds are still thick.
