Looking for a trip

I’ll be in Hilton Head July 19-25 and would love to go catch some fish.

I’ve gone out on the Captain Hook & The Drifter the past few years and have never caught anything to justify the $60-$70. Just a bunch of undersized BSB.

Can’t afford the charter money. I would chip in $50-$60 for bait & gas.

I don’t have to catch big fish (although it would be nice to catch something bigger than the smallmouths we have in Virginia) and I would like to keep a few to eat.

Any options?

I’ve got a couple of kids who want to try and catch crabs. Any suggestions on where to take them? Should we just buy those cheap traps at Wal Mart?

Thanks,
Trevor

Better get that chip up a little more. At $4/gal and an average of 2 to 3 mile/gal you won’t get far.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Sorry, I originally posted that I’d be in HHI the same week, but I’ll be there the next week. 26-2

What Salty said…

Even cheapest four stroker will need more than that. My boat is 2 stroke dingy, and chip is 100 bucks from my fishing buddies.

Is there room in this class for one more?

Sorry for not respondng.

My wife’s Grandfather had to be hospitalized. He passed away this morning.

I really was not looking for anything far (if at all) offshore. Heck, I would be happy fishing Broad/Skull Creek.

I just thought that someone might be doing a little fishing next week and would take me for a little gas money.

No big deal.

I’ll be happy tossing shrimp/squid in the surf.
