I lost a potential trip today because I told the clients I don't "fill coolers."
After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.
Thinking a little more on it, ya know a lot of folks consider just enough for a supper a cooler full! I couldn’t tell you the amount of folks that have said they had a cooler full only to find a couple of spot tail and a trout. Not being a smart asrs, I’m serious. Not sure how long you have been fishing. Just passing that on. Hate to see you pass up money over your super dupper conservitave ways. Cause as you know a lot of fish do die after being caught.

“Why Bruce?”
Sounded like anything less than a 3 man limit of "specks" was going to be a bad trip for them. My honesty of telling him I mainly target "Bull Reds" was also a deal breaker. He was going to "talk it over with his group and get back to me," so there is still a chance he calls back.

I think he’s probably doing two things by responding the way he did. He’s helping to preserve the resource we all respect and love, and protecting his future employment. I’d say that’s a pretty smart approach.

You getting into the fresh water stuff? I’ve heard a lot call Crappy “specks”. Or you talking about “spots”. Or are you calling trout Specks? I’ve heard some Northerners call them that. If spots, fresh water pink worms work well for them. Really.
Hey Fred,I brought home a cooler full of specks and redfish today!
LOL, yep many would call that a cooler full! Nice catch. Another month and I’ll see if I can make some time for a few “specks”. Seems when the deer hit full rut, the red fish and trout bite are the best. IMO.
