My dad and I are bringing our boat down to Seabrook Island on Oct. 13th or 14th . We were looking for guides to come on our boat and show us how to catch fish but they were a little pricey considering they were coming on our boat and using our equipment. So if anyone wants to help just let me know. Willing to pay $100 for a couple of hours.
Where Seabrook/ edisto river meets cherry point the first small creek past the point on the cherry point side is good on the falling tide. There is a sunken shrimp boat that can produce action on the edisto side of that same T intersection. People fish between botany and devauex bank for tarpon, sharks and reds, people usually fish the tideline or color change on a moving tide, top of he incoming produces cleaner water but it will all likely be dirtier than usually fro fresh water run off. There are also some rocks in front of botany that are good for big reds. Th inlet will swell up on you quick.
Super report 40inchreds, I just wish I had a boat to go fishing.

After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.

Gnfishing I don’t fish down in that area or I would recommend some areas to try.
Fritz I can certainly see why

Why?If I knew how to make a soothing meme ,I would.
Ha Mdaddy I do try to measure my words when I post because things are so easily misunderstood on
Message boards. No interest in politics I don’t think that would fit in well in that world. I make my decisions based on common sense.
I’m not a guide, but I do catch fish. I’ll show you around for free.
Been guide scouting Fritz for years. I’ll sell you his numbers on the cheap. Hit me up.

Fritz I can certainly see why they may charge more to fish on someone else’s boat. Taking people on a boat and with tackle you are not familiar with has to be a much harder challenge. So much of fishing is about efficiency and being able to execute your game plan and that is very hard to do under those circumstances.
Gnf I wish you good luck on your fishing weekend. Hopefully the weather will hold up for you. Live bait under a float is great that time of year. I would fish points with shellbanks and deep water docks. Early morning top-water fishing should be good as well.
YOU…
SHOULD RUN FOR POLITICAL OFFICE.
That is the most appeasing response I have ever seen.

I must agree with Mdaddy! Most soothing. CFC’s whole theme when starting out was “we won’t leave you fishing for info” or something like that.
Gnfishing, if you do choose a guide more than likely they Will put you on fish. How much you pay is how bad you want a guaranteed catch. Or hopefully so.
40inchred gave you some good info and so did apickett with the live bait under a cork.
Welcome to the sight!! Don’t let the bickering bother you! Common practice here along with super duper conservation dedicated captains!
“Why Bruce?”
First, I’ve had a few beers.
Been burning Irmas byproducts.
You’re a starting member and low balling the local guides. You are familiar with the waters you want to fish…or are you wanting a “guide” to keep you from running aground???
If you’re staying in a motel…$100…
Food…$100
Bus mans holiday.
If you know the waters and don’t want to pay “guide” prices…challenge yourself. Plan the trip with your Dad using a local chart…if you have one…less than a $100…
Right tackle and bait…$100
I’m done. Some people make their living fishing. I try to respect anyone working.
I respect you taking your Dad fishing. I did it too.
How about a re-do on the question?
Great post Mdaddy!

I lost a potential trip today because I told the clients I don’t “fill coolers.”

OK?? Good for you! Is there something wrong with keeping a legal limit set forth by DNR? I don’t target Fish I can’t eat.
“Why Bruce?”
Me too, and nothing wrong with eating fish , but I respect the folks, especially guides that conserve the fishery.
