I finally stepped up purchased a smart phone. I’d like to get some ideas of good apps to install (Weather, real time tides, log data, charts/maps, etc.). Free apps are always preferred, but if the app is worthy of purchasing, I would consider those as well.
Mine is loaded down with MyRadarPro (have to purchase) BlooSee, Tidegraph, Fishweather and FishTimeLite (which you don’t really need) as well as AS Regulations and FishSCSW and if you have Hilton’s RT-Nav!
I am in the same boat as you Goob. SO far i have aquired for free the super bright flashlight, weather underground, scottrade, and tides near me and i like them all. i am about to get some of the ones bennetmp suggest.
I’d rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave.
$14 for navionics… full chart color, many/most of the local fishing holes plugged in, can hit points on the screen and descritpions of the spots come up, tracking, plotting, saving spots, tides and weather built in…
Loads on the phone using WIFI, then works on the phone with no external data useage, uses the Phones GPS - so cell reception not required.
Worked 27 miles offshore a few weeks back, spot on - matched the boats garmin 100%.
SC boat ramps. Lets you search by county, body of water or by map. Uses Google earth to show all public boat ramps in SC. Also shows a picture of the ramp and how many parking spaces or if theres a pier there or not. Great for finding new places to go. Only for android.

I use the pro fishing journal. I like that it will import the all of the current weather conditions to your reports. I put my report in the notes since it wants you to upgrade to use all of the features.
