I just bought a G3 that has an alluminum floor in it. I want to put a non skid finish on it like a rhino lining but I want it to be olive drab in color since I will be using it as a duck boat. Any body have any ideas. I am not passed taking it to a professional if it will be done right.
do a search online for durabak
I found several different products when looking to do my jon boat. I went with Kiwigrip because of all the good things I read about it. I have not put it in yet so I can’t say anything about it yet. Google non-skid coatings, there are a couple of other products in addition to durabak.
Hydro Turf.
17’ McKee(For Sale)
Beagle
Try Line-X. From what I remember, they have several color choices.

comes in olive.
x2 Durabak18.
I always heard it was good stuff. Buddy of mine just installed it on his skiff. I can now vouch for it first hand - awesome non-skid.
p.s. what’s up SPARE!?! ![]()
It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!
spray Al’s liner on it. looks awesome, grips, and is a forgiving material, and VERY durable. my cousin is a dealer and a marine mechanic. send me a message if interested. i think the total cost to do the entire interior of a 16’ boat is around 150$
OH, and it is sprayed on not rolled. i have pics of my boat that he did, and he has done quite a few others. a 14’ mckee, another G3 w a 25 tiller on it, and another boat.
ft worry.
rig every rod you own with cajun thunders and you will at least look cool… look at all those pretty colors goin down the ole interstate. . .
Thanks for the advice everyone. I checked out the duraback and I am getting them to send me a color sample of the tan. I just want to make sure that it matches somewhat before I spend $120 for a gallon of the stuff!!!
If you go with Durabak, get it from the Durabak store online. Also go ahead and order a stipple roller (or 2 if you don’t want to clean it between coats). I ordered 1 gallon + 1 stipple roller and total cost including shipping was just shy of $139. They ship fast.

the durabak is some mean stuff, you thin it with zylene, use appropiate saftey mesures. make sure you use the rollers they sell, don’t get the long ones, all you need are the short ones. Only down sides to durabak is if you change your mind, you’re not getting it off, and it does show dirt after a while if you go with a light color, I found a pressure washer cleans it up pretty good.
Blue Runner, if you had come down the other week, you could have seen the durbak in my Mckee
Bought 3 quarts duraback various colors did the camo thing. It is really tough stuff. Put it on with a brush (dribbled some for a slightly raised area. You will be pleased with the results.
