Sweet. I love the wording. We estimate that the quotas were exceeded 2011-2013. So if we take that estimate and add it to our estimate that we estimated for this years estimate… We need to close immediately so that we do not overestimate.
Dang
Please note the obvious evidence (sarcasm)that is at the public’s disposal that is used to make decisions…Also look at the total allotment of certain fish. Pretty interesting that they have zero fish documented during this time period…Maybe the surveyors they use have not been able to make it to the dock’s (from VA to Fla) to get their useful information.

Makes perfect sense to close them, they don’t want us to catch any fish.
Catching isn’t the problem… It’s keeping them.

Yeah…there is nobody out there fishing anymore it seems. These mother fuggers are winning. The only positive is that there is a lot of Ocean and little enforcement. This is tantamount to &@&$ going on in the USSR. I never believed that I would see what I am seeing. Virtually all the fish being sold here is from overseas. Have any of you ever eaten a BSB on a local menu…? Its all so infuriating. We need to rise up in the streets of DC and make some noise.
A public beheading would put a stop to all this BS…
The only problem is now they have drones that are taking pictures from sky-high so even if you don’t agree with the regulations and choose to follow your own protocol, they can see you and fine you. Big Brother at its finest. Im sure they will figure out a way to close all bottom fish soon mainly with false data or extrapolations.
They are also supposed to be watching for using smaller fish (b-liners, bsb etc) as bait.
I heard third hand of this happening out of Charleston.
Anybody want a brand new TB1000?
It doesn’t look like I’m gonna need it anytime soon.

I have seen plenty of boats out there fishing…
I have had BSB, and quite a few other local fish on local menus…maybe you need to try dining outside of corporate chain restaurants?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Bsb doesn’t make it onto that many menus because the market price is high which cuts down on the margin bc most restaurant still try and keep price points for menu items under control. Other stuff is way more affordable and therefore more profitable.
Bro I don’t eat at chains that often. Although Georgetown/Murrells Inlet doesn’t have quite the number of great places to eat that Charleston does, there are some good ones, and bsb is never on the menu. If they can sell a 30 $ piece of trigger, you would think if prepared right they could find a use and a selling point at which people would buy the bsb. I think Sells was right when he said they all go up north, where they probably get 40.00 bux a plate.
you can find BSB’s on some of the local menus, Hanks, Lucca makes a Blackfish Crudo that is to die for, FIG, SNOB, Red Drum,
