The March Los Suenos tournament ended Saturday with 42 boats fishing 3 days. There were a total number of 783 billfish released with 56 of those being marlin. Fortunately, we took second place overall on the “Miss Behavin” with 3 marlin (2 blues / 1 stripey) and 23 sailfish. For those of you who fished some of the first Governor’s Cup tournaments, the “Miss Behavin” is the old “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” - 58’ Garlington. She still raises the heck out of fish.
If you want to fish, you get what you pay for in terms of boats. I recommend you call David at 713-443-6853. His boat is $2500 a day with one of the best crews in the country.
If you want a more Costa Rican experience, fish out of Los Suenos and then head South to Quepos / Manuel Antonio for the real deal.
I am pretty sure it is. The Mann engines were rebuilt late last year by my buddy that owns the boat now. She looks and runs like a brand new boat even though she was built in 1988.
