Fished the last 2 days out of Los Suenos, 1st day killed the tuna, 14 in 20-50# class, they were feeding like crazy under a school of spinner dolphin, very cool to watch. 2nd day went inshore and caught roosters and covina. This place is definately worth visiting if you have the chance. Trying for sails and marlin tomorrow.
By chance, the place we are staying has a food saver. So I will be bringing home tons of fresh tuna steaks. We are going to buy coolers and check them with our luggage. As for the roosters, any small rooster is fine with me, fist experience with them. Those little guys fight pretty good on 15# test. Sounds crazy bieng here, but can’t wait to get back to tailing redfish!
I have been thinking of heading down there after the first of the year. You staying at the Mariott there? Also if you have any good advice on charters I would appreciate it, mostly offshore though. Looks likw you are haveing a killer time.
may want to check on bringing that fish back. they told us when we were down there that customs wouldnt let us back into the country with any fish. apparently it may fall under the foriegn food, produce, ect… that they dont want coming back into the u.s. i could be wrong though, just what we were told.
We are staying in a condo near the marriot, my cousin bought the trip thru CCA. Our boat is called the Sails Call, it is a 34 Venture, sweet ride for here because you can cover alot of ground in a hurry. Our captains name is JC, great captain, caught some sails today and going back inshore tomorrow afer Cubera and Roosters. As for the beatle bar, we went to check it out last night, that place is crazy. All I am going to say about that place is hang on to your wallet.
Good job on the fish. Sounds like a fun trip. I have a bit of advise though, please be careful when posting pics of sailfish out of the water. The CF police will get you as well as all the other Web monkeys!
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. FISH 24/7------------ 25 Grady w/ a couple of Gas Guzzling 175 Johnsons “O-SEA-D” the old “Havanadaydream”
What boat did you fish on? One day we caught a bunch of tuna and just brought it into a local restaurant and they cooked for us and everyone else for real cheap. Good times.
