So I lost my anchor on Anne Richards (105β) anchor ball would not budge it. Slipped a small piece of pool noodle thru the line before dropping anchor line over board Went back Saturday with tanks on board hooked the wreck with reef anchor, that I forgot to switch over 3 weeks ago. We dropped down saw a line 20β away swam over followed to end and found my noodle floating 3β off the bottom. Okay go back the other way on the line, darn fresh cut on the rope which already had some growth on it. Some other driver has my anchor chain and swivel oh well thatβs how it goes sometimes. Should have gone sooner:frowning_face:
I know someone that got 2 anchors very recently. What/where exactly is the Anne Richards? 105 tug at commachne?
That is correct at the Comanche reef it is the 105β tug. Based on cut rope my guess it hung the rail on port side behind the wheel house. Saw remains of other anchor by the screw that was not the one.
Bummer for u there buddy. U donβt want to use a wreck anchor at the wrecks cause what happens when ur chain is what gets stuck. Use a length of chain 5-10 feet longer than ur boat and a good heavy anchor and anchor out in the sand with the correct amount of line to sit over the wreck and use a poly ball ring system to pull that bad boy up and save ur back and wallet. Lots of holes and things in the wreck u canβt see from the boat. Anchor on sand for reefs as well and save the reef from gettin crushed by ur anchor- good luck
