Border Collie, 45 lbs., White fur on chest and tail, black fur on his back. Bear was lost while on Capers Island on Sat., June 9,2012. Could be on other islands in that area. Please call 843-568-4939 if you find Bear. Thank you!
You need to contact the DNR and let them know about this. There is ranger that patrols the island that may have seen him and may have already caught him and brought him to the pound. I would think he would have stayed on capers because it’s a hell of a swim in some swift current to make it to other dry land from there. Hope everything turns out for the best.
Thanks so much. DNR has been helping us since Sunday. Sadly, Bear was found in the surf on Dewees Island not long ago. We are heart broken, but appreciate all the help everyone, especially the DNR who have been so professional and compasionate, have given. They were coming out on their day off to help look. They are also reposting the fact that fireworks are not allowed and are illegal on the island. Bear got spooked by fireworks and ran off.
Thanks again.
I was hoping for a happy ending…sorry for your loss.

Thank you, we were, too. Appreciate your concern.
Its bad to loose mans best freind sorry and God bless
I’m so sorry.
Thank you for your kind words. It really is devastating to lose a pet. Bear belonged to my son. He has looked every day to find him with the help of good friends and the DNR. Certainly not the outcome we wanted, but at least their is closure in finding him.
