If anyone comes across a hobie drive please contact me. It took a plunge in 20+ feet of water in hobcaw creek. I spent 3 hours dragging the bottom and even had a boat scan the area with a depth finder, but with no luck. I doubt i will ever see it again.
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”> Hobie Adventure Kayak </font id=“size2”> 24’ Wellcraft </font id=“size2”>
I’m guessing that there is very little magnetic metal on that drive system so, a magnet might not work for you. But, if you have a big one, try it anyway. Sorry about the bad luck.
Try calling a local dive shop. Might find someone to come out and take a look. Might have to pay them something but sure it would be cheaper than a new drive.
Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet air intakes
Well i have moved beyond getting it back, but they are really expensive so replace. $460 [:0] If anyone knows of one for sale or heres about one in the future please let me know.

You might try posting a thread to Hobie’s forums at http://www.hobiecat.com/community/index.php You might get lucky and find somebody with an xtra who’s looking for a few bucks.
They’ve got a “Kayak - Looking to Buy” cat, but you’ll probably get more response in the open forum for Kayaking. Just be prepared for a lecture on using a retainer line.
if you are pretty sure of its location (where it went in) you pay for the air apx 10 bucks and maybe a bottle of crown finders fee i would be willing to go look for it. i have all the dive gear.
