A friend had to cut loose from a Cabrina kiteboarding kite this past Saturday off Sullivans Island. If anyone hears of a kite found drifting near and past the Jetties, I’d love to get it back to her.
I saw one today on the sand bar at fort sumter
I suck at fishing, but i try
Saw a post on Facebook about a kite found while fishing a few days ago.
Check your PM. I sent you some info.
Charleston Craigs list in the lost and found section has a lost kite that was recovered.
Kite was found and returned in perfect shape to its happy owner thanks to Charlestonfishing.com, it’s fine members, and the nice folks that found it! From what I was told, the kite was cut loose from the beach at Station 29, Sullivans Island and found in the marsh on Morris Island.
Many thanks to everyone who helped put out the word and helped get the kite back. You made a kite boarder very happy and renewed her faith in people.

Just tell her and her friends to give fishermen their space while they are out there. In my experience Kite boarders think that just sticking rods in holders summons the fish to the bank. I’ve had many fishing trips cut short because they moved in on me and appeared to think I came out to watch them scoot along the bank at 30mph.

It’s great she got her kite back, I think, but I wouldn’t ride a kite board on a bet. And I’ll do some crazy stuff
We were in Belize a couple of years ago and watched a kite boarder get lifted into the air about 100’, travel a couple hundred yards down the beach and then slammed into the top floor of a 4 story condominium, where he splattered like a bug on a windshield and fell down the side, dead. Nope, I ain’t riding one of those.

Cracker Larry, you remind me some things are better left alone, over the summer I went to Costa Rica on a family trip and one of our activities was a kayak trip down a river. They warned us we might see some crocks but dont be alarmed they “generally dont mess with people” I had my son whos 11 on the front of the kayak and I paddled from the back, Been on plenty of canoes but had 0 kayak experience, Im 280 lbs and kayaking down with light rapids down this river and there are 10-12 ft crocks all over the banks, talk about a queasy feeling ,the following day we decided to take it easy so we Zip lined 4000 feet above a gorge , about crapped in my pants. The following day we were going river rafting, I got thrown into the river twice and learned what the power of water was all about, our guide was hitting rapids sideways trying to throw us. Our last excursion was a simple one, horse back riding- I sh-t you not we rode horses down a step mountain trail that was about as wide as a car lane with 1000 ft drops on either side in certain areas, all I could think about was what if these horses loose their footing, because for some reason they like to walk by the edge, as we were going down the trail my wives horse got to close too the horse in front of her, the horse in front of her kicked the crap out of her horse in the chest which then made her horse buck and throw her off slamming her to the ground . Your posting of the splattered kite boarder just reminded me- some things are better left alone, glad we did those things, but I wont be doing them again. Thanks for your story Cracker Larry. Yea I know has nothing to do with kite boarding, but your image brought back some memories.
