Fished the CCA off of Savannah this morning, which normally means number of fishermen x 15 = number of sea bass in the cooler this time of year. 40 mph out, 40 mph back, and 40 mph in any direction when it was time to move due to lack of wind and current. We kept 9. I’ve seen a bite shut off before but never like this. The last 2.5 hours yielded 3 short c-bass. I ain’t complaining about such a nice day, but that’s a lot more gas than I’m used to putting towards so few fish.
Us too, today was dismal for being such a nice day. Truly the worst outing we have ever had for a Seabass trip. What is so strange, is the last three trips were banner.
Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good… but I wanna see it.
Lights On!
All the world is indeed a stage…and we are merely players.
Now sure what depth you were fishing, but we started yesterday in 40 ft and got nothing (no fiddlers for the sheeps that were probably there). After pushing out to 60 feet, we loaded up on the seabass.
I tried in 40’ briefly Sunday not one bite moved to 60’ it was non stop with blk bass. 40’ was 46 deg and 60’ was 48 deg. Don’t know what depth you where at but it seems they don’t like water under 45 degs…??..
Thanks Ed. I seem to recall 47 degrees in 64+/- feet of water. Believe me, I’ve caught thousands, just kinda like showing up at the correct time and place on the invitation and the doors are locked, the stereo and lights are off, parking lot’s empty. It was very strange. Maybe they don’t like under 48?
