Used to rain so much when i was a kid (20 years ago) we had a sustainable crawfish farm in our ditch on johns island. Ditch seemed to stay full all summer for years. Wanted to eat them one time, but my dad’s devilsih grin when he said “you can, but i’m not” talked me out of it.
Well the flooding and cleanup is the sucky part, clean the yard and a week later have to start all over again.

Last year I remember really wet was winter of 92-93. I haven’t seen the small creeks full year round in 30 or so years. Many homes built in gum ponds that used to always hold water a 1/4 of the year. Be a lot of upset new rural home owners if wet weather comes back. Was a time when most every field planted had an area laid fallow do to it being to wet to plant and if not plant then to harvest.
