You know what fun ? The Middle Ground in the Harbor is
Shark identification is always an issue especially if you want to keep one. (Be careful BIG Fines)
Atlantic Sharp Nose sharks love Cut Mullet on the bottom. They are the best shark we have here in our area to eat. I fed ten family members with three of these and had some left over .
Being a non Sport fish the only shark that is? You need to clean them right as you catch them + hang them over the side to bleed out - or else the meat is not good ? It really makes a mess on your Kayak but worth it.
I only keep the small ones up to 21/2ft
Must do- soak them overnight in Buttermilk takes all the acid out,
Cut them like steaks or slice thin strips for frying
Grill em- bake them or fry (spice them up) ? Really good eating
I have heard that cutting the gills and letting the fish bleed out in the water is a really good way to bleed them out. Then gut them and put them on ice. I have heard that letting the open flesh of the fish soak in water will change the way the meat tastes. Some biology about the fish maintaining a different salt consistency in their meat than the water they are in, and the meat will absorb whats in the water.
Probably not a big deal in salt water, but heard it makes a difference for striper in fresh water.
