I have a 2003 Yamaha vmax 175 hpdi. This weekend the low oil alarm came on and has stayed on. The remote oil tank is full and the main oil tank on the motor is full. Is there an easy to replace sensor on the main tank or possibly a float that is stuck? Anybody seen this issue before?
There is (should be) a sensor on the tank. They do go bad…and sounds like yours may be. If the rezzy is full and the alarm is going off, I’d say the sensor is sending bad info to the alarm…

mine did that awhile back while running filled tank w/ the spare gallon I keep at all times. Alarm kept sounding. Turned engine back off and squeezed the already hard priming bulb as much as I could. Bam!!! problem solved.
