wondering if anyone uses a low profile baitcaster on the kayak. I was thinking about investing in one, but I didn’t know how we’ll one would perform being low on the water, trying to get under docks ect.
I have several Lews and the new 3rd gen abus that I use specifically for dock fishing , love the casting accuracy. I will line up a drift when conditions are right and cover about every leg on l the dock and platform. Nice side arm cast under and out the other side and then work lure back with the current is deadly at times. Stake out or anchor with anchor trolley pulled up to the bow so you are facing the current and pepper away.
I use them as well, have an older shimano bantam that has held up well in the salt and a crappy daiwa that has not. I stand most of the time while using them.
I use them, but it’s definitely harder to cast sitting at water level.
I use them all the time. Takes a little practice getting under docks without too much issue.
Fish is a 4-letter word…
I like mine for fishing popping corks with…
Haven’t gotten proficient enough to use them for plastics yet. But once you grt the hang of em there better for fishing plastics than a spinner, that’s why all the bass guys have them
yep… Using Abu premiers and Shimano Curados
thats all I use when pitchin artificials unless its topwater or the wind is whipping and I’m throwing light plastics.
Have the Abu Garcia Revo Inshore and the Shimano Curado’s. They both work well although prefer the Abu Revo. Use for topwater and soft plastics. Although alway keep the Shimano Stradic’s around also. When the wind picks up you will need the spinner.
