Low Tide Creek Tackle

Planning on fishing off a creek dock during low tides coming up. Usually do everything on the fly but going to use spinning gear. Debating using popping corks v. bottom fishing/carolina rigs, any input appreciated.

Also planning on using frozen shrimp or some crab meat. Other suggestions?

For the cork, use live bait. If you only have dead bait, I’d put it on a Carolina rig on the bottom. Quartered fresh blue crab on the bottom near the grass line works well for reds.

thanks 23, been catching a ton of croaker and spot but hoping for reds. Haddrells carry blue crab?

I go to the seafood store. If they have fresh dead crabs, they’ll usually give them to you. Haddrell’s doesn’t have blue crabs as far as I know.

If you are going there, go ahead and get live bait. Its tough to beat a live shrimp/mullet on a popper as the water comes in.

All the above + jig/mudminnow or gulp bumped across the bottom on the lower stages of the tide.
