Hey, I’m taking my Dad out tonight after work and wanna put him on some fish. Putting in at Battery Creek down in Beaufort.

I usually try to fish incoming tide or around high tide and have had descent luck. I’m just looking for some general pointers or types of areas to target while fishing at low tide for trout or redfish. I probably have things working against me tonight with the tide and the full moon, but he’s only visiting for the week. Either way an evening on the water will be nice.

Can’t help you with any helpful info as I am not much of a fisherman but, catching fish is icing on the cake. Time spent on the water with your Dad is priceless. What I wouldn’t give to have one more day on the water with mine. Enjoy yourself and good luck!

Might try talking to the folks at Beaufort Boat and Dock Supply. Hot Spot map shows a couple spots up Battery Creek but I’ve had zero luck there.

If you launch at Sands and go across to Archer Creek you may do better. Be careful there bc it’s tricky on low tide. There’s also a bait and tackle store right near there. They’ve been very helpful to me.

Thanks for the reply, we went up battery creek, my dad caught two small trout a chartreuse grub/red jighead. I missed a fish on a mud minnow under a cork. Fishing was slow but we had a great time.

Hot Spot maps are out together w input from local guides. Show the area w fishing spots highlighted.
