OK guys, the members of STAFF (Southern Tyers and Fly Fishers) are doing a week long area clean up of our waters and we need everyones help. We plan on splitting into different areas and different boats (skiff and yaks to clean the marshes) and the larger boats to help out on the islands and transfers of large items. we all see trash all day when we fish, and this will be our time to get it all outta here. We would like to keep all the trash in a central spot to show off our results at the end of the week. this is our current dilema. im talking to the Chas Co recycling center tomorrow to see if they will give us a spot or two at a landing. Any ideas are welcome to help this run smoother.
the dates will be aug 8-15 (sat-sat)

Scotty I’d be glad to assist,I will be catering a job one of those days, waiting to find out this afternoon. I will keep checking the sight for more info.Maybe the Lowes ,Homedepot or other local Hardware stores would donate some trash bags for this cause.I know most of the time a written request is needed.Just a idea.
Whoa boy, I’ll bring the beer pong table to the finale

I belonged to a club on Sully’s and we did this every year. Used the landing for drop-off/pick-up and had no trouble getting a container out there for the day. I believe the recyclers/refuse folks would donate the container and pick-up.
Sounds like a great idea, but I don’t think I’ll be mobile enough yet by then to walk in the sand (broken leg from motorcycle accident). I may be able to round up a crew and drop them off somewhere and haul the trash off when finished. Just post the details here, and I’ll keep checking in.
Happy boatin’ y’all!!
