After talking with several of the members on this sight as well as others who walk lightly on the salt flats and carry a big stick, it seems as though it could be beneficial to meet others who suffer some of the same afflictions. Such a gathering would be open to all people regardless of age, skill level, fly tackle choices, or punctured/ripped earlobes.
A group of us plan to meet at The Mill in North Charleston Tuesday May the 12th at 7:00pm. If all goes well and enough interest is present, we may try to create monthly meeting times as well as plan for future events such as cookouts, all-fly picture tournaments, group tying sessions, etc.
I have learned A TON from some of the anglers who will be present at this intial meeting and hopefully others will do the same. It will also be a great time to meet up with some other anglers to help fill in crew slots (I plan to do take the boat out on several trips this summer on all-fly offshore trips for dolphin and Ajs and could use some help defraying the costs of gas with people who are also interested in doing the same).
If you are interested in this, please respond below or by private message so we can get an idea as to what to expect in the way of turnout.
Sounds like a great idea. I would love to make the first meeting, but I’ll be chillin’ with Mickey and Minnie down in Orlando until that Wednesday. I would definitely be interested in future meetings, so keep me in the loop.
You don’t know me, but I would be in. Sounds like a great idea. I am fairly new to Charleston, and would love an opp. to meet others with the same love. Great idea.
Any man that doesn’t know how to catch a fish, shouldn’t disgrace a fish, by catching it.

The Mill is a sketch bar, dark, quiet, and a perfect place for the flyfishing type that don’t live the orvis lifestyle, but rather travel on life’s sidewalk with a rough edge about them with a fist full of clousers ready to smack the next sweet old lady that dare cross their path.
the beer is cold, and there’s room for everyone. Except your grandmother.
LFFA meeting sounds great Ill be there…BS waders on and everything.
Most people reading this thread will appreciate this… I just realized that during this time of year and throughout the summer If I have to commit to plans on a weekday evening… I dont check my work calendar,or check with my girlfriend, I immediately check the tide chart for corrisponding flood tides I might miss before commiting to anything… i think I have a problem… a great problem to have see yall tuesday the 12th as the tide will be low and we will not be missing anything

Did you think the time and meeting was mere happenstance? We too check our “little black books” to make sure we are not missing an important date to catch some tail.
