So, I woke up this morning and it was 65 degrees at my house. It looks like we have a nice stretch of rain and low 80 highs and mid 60 lows. The last time I caught fish on top, the lake temp was 82. Think it could come back for a few hours early in the morning in the next week? If it doesn’t it looks like the topwater action will be early at least.

I heard from Richard there was a little bit of schooling going on last week when we were getting all that rain. I don’t think I’d go out looking for them now, but I’ll definately keep a topwater plug rigged up on the boat if I’m bait fishing or trolling.
Caught them last evening at 55’-60’

I saw a school pop up for about a minute last thursday at the dam. I was just eating lunch at the dam launch. They were out of casting range. Went out friday night and the surface temp ranged from 84 to 85. Thermocline was only 30’ down. There was plenty of bait and small fish above 30, big ones were on the bottom in 55 to 65 FOW

Man, I really need to get out at night again. Since the new baby arrived, I put my boat in storage in Charleston and brought the pond boat up to do some fishing in the nearby pond. I figured I would only be able to get away for 1-2 hours at a time until things calm down around the house. Guess I will just have to wait till the fall. Maybe I shouldn’t keep looking at the forum, it only makes it harder. At least no one has posted any killer cooler hauls, or massive fish lately, so that makes it easier.
I’ll stop checking for the next couple of weeks now, so you guys go catch those 15 pounders, and limits of 25" plus fish.
