HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM YEARS BACK WITH AN EAGLE FINALLY FOUND CORRODED CONNECTION PLUG GOING TO RECEIVER " BE WORTH CHECKING"

I use vaseline on anything I think may corrode it has always worked well for me

WD 40 eats rubber. That’s why it takes off road tar.

The first time I bought a new boat engine, I pulled every electrical connection and filled them with vaseline. No electrical problems for 10+ years. Too bad they don’t do it when they putting them together.

Dielectric grease is non flammable, Vaseline is flammable. For the minimal cost difference, why take the chance.

Third for using Vaseline for inexpensive dielectric grease. Basically it keeps oxygen and salt air away.

Dielectric grease is an insulator, and should not be used on contact surfaces, as it increases resistance, and can cause overheating and or lack of contact.
CRC 6-56 is a silicon based product and is safe to use on rubber and plastic, but we still dont use it on the contact surfaces of electrical items.

Lowrance updated me to a hook 7 for $66.Get it next week they said the hook 5 connections will work.Ordered a Ram bracket for the hook 7.Will order a sun shield and cover also.
