Lowrance Structure Scan... anyone using it..?

I’ve been reading about this module you can buy ( $600 ) for a Lowrance HD unit. It has side scan and bottom scan up to about 300’. Looks like a nice setup to have while looking for structure offshore.
shore. Anyone with first hand experience using it…?

I have installed a couple structure scan units, no personal experience however customers are truly happy with them. customers who do not have them say they are as close cheating as possible(bass guys)

What’s the side scan range on those units? It would be pretty cool for trolling if you could see something off to starboard/port a couple of hundred feet and change course to run through them…

Pillage and plunder with a 9wt and a fist full of clousers.

Looks like about 300’ side to side…

If it works like they claim, then it would be a no brainer. It appears to be a superior technology. I would love for someone that has used it in a saltwater environment for trolling and bottom fishing to chime in. I would think the biggest issue at first would be learning how to use the sonar. I would think that you have to tweak the transducer depth and frequency regularly to get it to work correctly until you have presets saved.
