Lowrance transducer dissentigration

I installed a Lowrance HD7 on my boat last year and noticed that I was getting no reading on the Sonar on Sunday.

After inspecting the transducer I realized the bottom half of the transducer has completely come apart.

And NO I have hit nothing with the transducer that I know of and no I have not run aground. Has any one else experienced this kind of a problem??

It’s a first for me and I have owned quite a few boats with transducers but never one that just completely came apart like this one.

Any suggestions???

Well I got some good news today. Cabela’s said they were getting a new transducer out to me very soon at “NO COST” even though technically it is out of warranty period. I also spoke with Lowrance and they said the same thing if Cabela’s would not make it good they would. How about that??? Two companies both going above and beyond the call of duty. That ROCKS in my book!!

Cabelas is a great company. I had a salt water Minn Kota trolling motor that they had sold me and the prop shaft was bent. I could still use it but it vibrated pretty bad. At about 2.5 years, I decided I would mail it to Minn Kota and have it repaired before the warranty ran out. I had put off shipping cause I would be out of a motor and I would have to pay for shipping since Minn Kota doesn’t have an authorized repair center around Charleston. Well I lost my original receipt so I called Cabelas and asked for a copy and told them why I wanted one. They sent me a new salt water Motoguide(I asked for a switch since I wasn’t happy with Minn Kota’s repair policy) and told me to put the Minn Kota in the new box and they even paid shipping both ways!

Now that’s customer service!!

I swore off the othe big pro sportings good store in town after having some problems with their stuff about 7 years ago and placed an order with Cabelas and have not regretted making the switch yet!! Cabelas will stand behind what they sell and even pay the shipping back.

I do not know of another outfitter in the country that has that level of Ritz Carlton service and their prices are good to, well as good as anybody elses in town but the service is absolutely top notch. I told them that I needed it right away and they said as soon as they could put their hands on the part they would overnight it on their dime. Lowrance also said they would make it good as well. That is tuff to beat in this difficult economic environment!!!
