Went out Saturday evening for the ebb tide
fishing was slow
my wife wins again
Best thing was the 18" Red she hooked a popping cork with her jig head and the fish was on the cork
Pretty fish! Nice story! Glad you shared it!
haha my friend had the same thing happen to him a couple of years ago… cool stuff

Nice,
One time with a guide we followed a cork around that he figured had a redfish attached and caught 11 others that were schooled up with the cork fish. We couldn’t get close enough to get a good cast on the cork.
Good to see you are out and fishing, WandoGo! Hope all is well.

Has there been a redfish tournament in the area recently? That’s usually when you see a lot of “broken off” floats attached to a red.
quote:could be:roll_eyes: It looks like the leader coming from the cork is a steel wire with a little mono on the end. that way the steel wire would rust away quicker and the fish would only have to tote that short mono leader around until the hook dissolved. This should be against tournament rules.
