M4 does work in James River, VA

Long report short but I’ve been getting my @ss kicked in my new home water of the capital of the south, the James River in Richmond, VA. Have had very little luck until today. Put on a copper M4 that I tied up for Chucktown and proceeded to have numerous hits on it, catching a gorgeous 10" smallie and losing a much larger one. Apparently I forgot how to set a hook on smallmouths because I missed/lost several more. The evening ended with me putting on a bigger, heavier black M4 and trying to sight nymph 20" catfish. Last cast got a solid hookup and I finally reeled up a 5 pound largemouth, biggest bass of the summer so far. And of course my camera battery was dead. Thanks for a great fly Mike. Back to the vise to crank out some more copper ones for smallies and some really big ones for the huge catfish here in Richmond.
