Mack Attack, July 14

Left dock with my wife and her girl friend from out of town @ 4:30 to get ahead of the Megadockers (strike 2 for the dog). Headed South (along with the fleet) to avoid the storms. Cut due East after passing 1st storm line and ended up well north of the 226 Hole (to avoid the parking lot). Temp was 81 to 82.5 deg all day. We did find a nice 1.5 deg temp break in about 200’, but the Cudas were awful. We fought scattered weeds all day, until we were worn out. We did lose a brand new TLD25 rig on a brand new rod, line and lure when our friend lost hold of it while fighting a nice Dolphin. Ouch! At least we saw him sky about 15’ when he hit!

Ended up with no Dolphin in the box, never saw any Sails, with a 15# King and a 40-45# Wahoo (day saver) in the box. Weeds were the worst I’ve had to fight in a long time, so we headed home around 1:30. Easy ride around the storms and nice and cool when we hit the dock.

Probably won’t go out for a bit - as the bite seems to be off … We’ll stay home and catch some Trout instead … King bite should be picking up.

We did lose a brand new TLD25 rig on a brand new rod, line and lure when our friend lost hold of it while fighting a nice Dolphin. Ouch! At least we saw him sky about 15’ when he hit!

Hope the outfit gets replaced. Nice job on the hoo.

It is the perfect little creek and flats fisher. It doesn’t catch the big hoos however.

Isn’t that always the case? Fish-n-kid seems adamant about staying away however. Apparently he owns Ralston Creek.
