Gail I didn’t hear about it until Joe told me across facebook. and that was just last week. Now that you have some contacts here use them and give us a better heads up and we’ll reach out to several of the fishing and boat clubs here. I mentioned to Joe to email everyone in our boat club just a few days ago, but that was probably too short of notice for many.
No idea when this all started or how it was marketed, but if you could get it in some of the local boat club news letters I’m sure it’ll reach a lot more people.
I’m a member of the WAOMC and the Stono River fishing club, that’s a bunch of people between those two alone that probably didn’t know anything about it. Let us help you reach people next go around…

I have family from Atlanta GA in town this weekend. I would have loved to be a part of this. I think it’s a great program and applaud everyone involved. Put me down as a boat for next year though for sure!!!

Meks, we did speak at both the east cooper and Stono club meetings about MAD. We were able to recruit a few members from each club to volunteer this year. If I’m remembering correctly it was the September meeting for both clubs. The club we were late on trying to get a speaking engagement with was Summerville. Just ran out of meetings to be able to get to think.
Word of mouth is our friend for recruitment. What will grow this event is y’all hearing reports and comments about it from friends that you know and trust, not us faceless screen names trying to pitch our event. Nor a stranger coming to your club to pitch the event. While it definitely helps and got us over 35 boats this year, the rest of the members will really open up to it when they hear reports and unbiased opinions of the event.
Can’t wait for tomorrow. And already making notes on how we can improve for next year.
