I found what I believed to be a smoking deal on a Buck filet knife. Only $25.00 for a 6.5 inch filet knife with scabbard, stainless steel with titanium coating(on e-bay). When it arrived it looked like real Buck packaging and documentation. HOWEVER when I was admiring it I noticed the blade was stamped “China”. Is Buck making knifes in china or was I duped?
Apparently yes. The “Silver Creek Folding Filet knife” on their website states that it’s imported. Doesn’t say from what country, but not made in the USA.
If that’s the knife you bought, the retail price shows as $43, so if it’s actually a Buck brand, then not a bad deal.
Perhaps contact Buck and ask them.
Thanks

The China buck knifes are made to Buck’s specs, but they do have China stamped on the base of the blade. That’s better than Pakistan, but I prefer to see USA when I whip out my blade. I carry a Buck 110 . With USA stamped on the base. I also like Gerber & Benchmade, and German Japanese work. Buck holds a good razor edge
