Got there with the sunrise…
Threw the minnow trap out and filled up in a hurry, but did not need them because cut mullet was the ticket today. Paddled out and started working the grass, but nothing was interested at first. Lots of crashing deeper in the grass though. The magic seemed to start once Timbuck2 showed up. He managed 2 over the slot fish in about 20 minutes. Here is one hook-up.
Finally I got one, and it was a nice one. About 31-32" and between 11-12 lbs on the scale.
After a little while (and a stinking stingray)I got #2. About 28" and 6-7lbs.
I put one more in the yak similar to the above one, but no pics…timbuck may have one?
Finally, there is the one that got away…
Tim had a wrecking ball as well. Hit and run…broke the braid/50lb leader before he could even get the rod out of the holder.
