Proud to say that “Floppy”(broken right ear that hung straight down) made the sc book @ 127-1/8"net he was a small five point his @1.5 and grew really good in my clover and supplemental feeding. Harvested @ age 4.5.Only have about 60 acres but age helps a lot! Got his sheds amazing growth!!!
No doubt age and nutrition are key to the lowcountry deer… We can’t control the genetics but do have some control over the first two. let them go to grow… Doe meat is GOODER lol
Thanks you Fred. He’s my first buck to make the SCB, Daughter killed one in same stand two yrs ago that missed the 125" net by 1/4" It grossed 131". Floppy grossed 129-7/8" but was very symmetrical.
Very nice!!!Love your mindset and your approach, TripleT. I hate the whole “net” score. A deer should get credit for every inch it grows. “Nets” are for fishing. LOL!!
Congrats!

That is why I joined Safari Club International when I younger and hunting animals for scores. Giving the animal credit for every inch they grow seamed fair.

I agree. Why should there be deductions?
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.
im not crazy about the deductions either but as for a trophy i think a trophy is in the eye of the beholder i thank the good lord for every deer i have harvested regardless of trophy status i just really enjoy deer hunting and love to eat them that is a beautiful buck you shot congrats on him for sure
