I have a rifle with a ten round mag that I wanted to use for hunting deer this coming season. I was told I needed to buy a five round mag to be legal to hunt in SC on my property. I’ve looked on scdnr.gov and cannot find where it says this. In the past I’ve always shoot a 270 that holds only four rounds, so I’ve never had this issue before, nor ever thought about it much. . Obviously.
Use what you want, no restrictions. If you need 10 rnds to kill a whitetail, then you don’t need ammo capacity, you need shooting lessons.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

hunt with it may need the extra ammo for a fast moving coyote, besides that rifle may not have a 5 round clip option. some states do have a 5 round limit but not here
good luck.
One shot - one kill!!! Then - what if a herd of hogs comes out???
My 270 bolt-a only holds 5. No law restricting the number I’m aware of. You’re not likely to get off more than a couple shots anyway unless you are shooting an autoloader.
I think the point some are missing is that his magazine is capable of holding 10 rounds, but he never said he was going to fill it to capacity while hunting. 23, you can use whatever size mag you desire and put as many in as you feel necessary. I have a friend that useds a rifle with a 10 round mag, but he only loads a couple rounds…
A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.
LOL, I’m just cheap and didn’t want to buy another mag. I doubt I’ll ever load more than three rounds while sitting for deer. Unless I go find some hogs, then its the 30 round mags!!
