MagicTilt Warranty Suck so Far

Has anyone had any dealings with MagicTilt Warranty? So far I am not pleased at all. The trailer came with a new boat I bought late last March. Normal commute towing is 10 miles to one landing and 20 miles to the other. The trailer has less than 600 miles on it.I do a walk around of the rig everytime before it is moved and never noticed any sign of wear until July 4th weekend. I pulled it roughly 60-70 miles one way with half of that being on I-95(tire pressures were good and all even this day). When we arrived at the location I done another walkaround and noticed the outside tread on the right front tire was bald. The left front tire was worn on the inside but nowhere proportional to the right front. I reported it to MagicTilt the following week and was told it sounded like an axle problem and to take it to a warranty provider listed on their website. I explained the complications of this due to my schedule. I ended up being able to get it to a warranty provider in December…the boat had not moved since Labor Day weekend until this day. I received a call a few days later stating my trailer was fine the problem was the air pressure in all tires was 25 psi. I can not dispute this because I did not check them that morning. I explained the tire pressures were good when the problem showed. Needless to say, it cost me $42.06 to add air to my tires. I called and spoke with Jeff in the warranty department at MagicTilt early last week and explained the story to him. He said it sounded like an axle problem and wanted me to carry it to Iron Knight Trailers in Charleston. I let him know my work schedule was rough, I leave SC on Sunday and drive 350 miles to NC and work 50 hrs Mon-Fri and drive back home Friday nights. Iron Knight is probably over an hour drive from my house. I sent him an email Thursday with pictures and asked for him to call me after he looked at them…haven’t heard from him. I called and left a voicemail with him yesterday with no return call. I emailed him two more pictures that were better an

Is this a single or tandem axle trailer?

Tandem axle.

you would think they could find you a warranty place between home and your work. That way you could take it on your way and fixed on your way home

pull a string and check the alignment yourself. Put a level on each tire(vertically) to check the camber. If you have an alignment problem, it should be obvious.

Looks like an alignment issue between the axles.
Try what spareparts said. I think you will find the issue pretty easily.

Soul Stealer, out of curiosity, what kind of tires came on your trailer, bias or radials?

ducks4gis, I can not remember which it has. I called MagicTilt again around noon yesterday and asked to speak with whomever Jeff answered to at the company. I didn’t get to speak with anyone except for the receptionist but Jeff did call at 4:30. He is sending two tires to my residence and we are working out the details on how to get it to a shop to find the problem. Time will tell…

I’d stop pulling my hair out and run it over the Wesco in West Columbia and let them align the trailer.

Then, I’d throw a hail mary and send the bill to your trailer warranty folks. I would not expect to be reimbursed, but at least you’ll be fixed and get to complain on social media about the crummy customer service of your product.

one more thing to check. Look at the capacity plate on your trailer and compare it to the posted weight of your boat/motor and gear. I’ve seen more than one dealer put a boat on a trailer that was too small.

My experience with MagicTilt has been the complete opposite. I have a 15 year old trailer and am the third owner. Three years ago, I noticed that the frame was cracking. The trailer was way out of warranty, and they were under no obligation to repair it. They said to have it repaired locally and send them the bill, and 1 week later, I had a check in my mailbox. If that’s not great customer service, I don’t know what is. Sorry to hear that your experience has not been like mine, and hopefully they’ll step up to the plate.

Ive heard them referred to as TragicTilt…their trailers don’t enjoy a very good reputation and this episode won’t help

It is true that if you run even a short distance with underinflated trailer tires they will wear very quickly. I had this happen and since have been careful to make sure they are inflated to around 45-50 psi and no more troubles. Not saying thats your problem but for the good of the cause.
