Mahi 5/28

Ride out under the dark clouds was interesting. Looked like mini twisters forming. Saw several dark ones and one longer white one.

-started out @ lower end of Edisto Banks:
-ran thru a bag of baits warming up on barracudas.
-tried 78 Unique (1.5 * warmer than down @ Edisto Banks), same critters, only larger. One pulled drag on the 80 planer rig! Had our hopes shattered once we saw the lack of stripes.
-aimed the pointy end deeper, finished off a bag of cherries before any action.
-started with the mahi @ about 260’ just offshore of the sportie boat parade grounds: singles, doubles and a triple as we made our way to the far side of the MPA. All three of the triple were additionally motivated by the gray cruise missile chasing them once we got them close to the boat! No free lunch today.

(could have used your help Quincy, Justin did all the reeling)

Most caught on pink & white, largest (38) on a mahi colored surface lure, way back hit most, forgot bag of bird chains and squid chains (which caught majority last trip). If we weren’t clearing grass we weren’t getting hit. All grass was scattered but sufficient to keep ya working for the bites.

freaky wheather, nice looking bull, this workin thing is killin my fishin thing!!
