Sorry this post is late, but a good story for us. My friend found a biggerrr boat for us in California. The other side of the country. He got one h&$$ of a deal so week before last he and I headed out with DH’s 2500 to get it. That was a lonnnnnggggg f’in trip. Pulling that 33’ boat through LA was fun, but after that we got the hang of it. Oh well, seven new trailer tires, one 12 ton jack, two new trailer lights, and one broken A/C acuator later we made it back to the Palmetto State.
On Saturday we took the wives and Ol’ Jarsh out to the Deli. This was their first trip offshore. Had one Ballyhood Wahoo Wacker out on the WTFB for about 5 minutes when a nice bull smashed it. My wife, with a small amount of help from me got him to the boat where he cut a few backflips and put on a show. Got to about 300’ and it was wife #2’s turn. G-Pudge gave some assistance to her, though she prolly didn’t need it. She wrassled that cow to the boat for yet another cartwheel filled show at boatside. One more newbie left. Jarsh was ready when a huge cow loaded up on that TLD. He set the hook and brought her to the box. That boy likes this stuff now. No more bass fishing in Iowa for him. After that things slowed down a bit. Lots of short strikes and a few peanuts. We did see this cold water eddy that was pushing clear light blue water to the surface. This thing stuck out like a sore thumb. Trolled through and around it, but it produced nothing. First time we had seen that.
I think these pics, plus the smile on your wife’s face, means that long truck ride was worth it! Hell, she might even MAKE you go fishing now!

We probably would’ve caught more if you woulda chummed the water like you usually do. Just kidding, but seriously, congrats to Susie on her first dolphin. I think she’ll go again…

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, but you need to vent that big furry fish on the left edge of this pic and release it, lest the NMFS and www police get on you…

These rookies all had a good day! Look at em’ smile. And I don’t think that one guy is going back to Iowa.

What kind of boat? I did something like that myself. Sucks being the guy going 50 on the interstate for 2 days not counting 30 in the mountains…

GOOD JOB GUYS !!! YA’LL WILL ENJOY THAT NEW BOAT !
Great job!!

…because everything is a conspiracy!!!

Thanks for the assist, 23sail. Thanks rooster, we heard you on 68 Saturday. Sounds like yall were having about the same amount of action. Cracker, we picked up a 33’ Hydra-Sports. It was 4" too wide to get it shipped cheaply, so we went to get it. Apparently, after you pass 10’ wide it’s technically an “oversized load” or so we were told.
Nice…when I did that, we hid the kilos in the fuel tanks… pro tip…
