Finally got the Whaler all done and had nice enough weather to have it’s first shakedown run. Exceeded my expectations. Does everything my old boat did, but better with more room, more stable, and even turns and floats better. Very pleased with the decision to restore this old boat. See you guys back out there.

Thanks guys, now I just have to settle on a live well. Can’t stomach the price of a new G&M and even used ones sell for $350-$400. Might have to settle with a Keep Alive 30 gallon.
Nice job and great looking boat. I said the same thing about the bait tank. But i finally bit the bullet and bought a new G&M bait tank. Now i wish i would have did it along time ago. I got Herring Tuesday night. Fished the next day. Changed the water thursday. Fished tournament yesterday and my bait are still alive and frisky today. I’m fixing to change the water out again and see how long i can keep them alive.
Your gonna pay a little over 300$ for a keep alive 30gal tank…yes the GM’s are expensive but you can not compare the quality. IF ur gonna buy a KA just buy a 30gal bucket and insulate it… if u want to buy 1 tank for the rest of your fishing days by a GM. I will guarantee you the best price in columbia.
I will actaully be setting up a booth at the palmcoast outdoors expo on april 11th.(I will post some more details on this in a couple weeks) I will have some tanks there showing them off and taking orders as well. Also i am trying to have a new oxygen system there as well to show off…

Tim, I didn’t get a chance to run the trolling motor as I need to buy a new battery to put in the fish locker when fishing.
I get the value of the GM tanks. My other issue is space. I can spend $600 on a 20 gallon GM that from I understand isn’t really 20 gallon because of the filter chamber, or I can pay $350 for a 30 gallon KA. If the KA isn’t any better than a bucket, then I can just make one out of this 50 gallon soda barrel I have laying around.
My concern with the 20 gallon is that I also need it to hold some fish from time to time. Not sure if the 20 gallon would hold a few redfish.
