i’ve been using store bought rigs for the last couple of years and would like to make my own. can anyone tell me how to match up the proper crimp size and style (single sleeve, double, etc.) to a particular cable size?

going to be fishing for shark. if the cable diameter is .028 what size crimp should i use? should i use single sleeve or double sleeve?

The pack of sleeves will tell you what size to buy per cable size.
I like Haddrells for info and supplies but any shop can help you with your questions…

By the pack telling you…the info is on the back. Use the double sleeves and get a pair of crimp pliers.
